Mama's at 9 1/2 cm, and feeling a little bit of pain. Contractions are getting closer and shorter.

Almost Baby time!
We're making good time. The nurse said Mama's at 5 cm, and progressing about 1cm/hour.

We should have a baby sometime this afternoon.
Mama's got her epidural, and is having contractions, and not feeling them.

Life's good right now.
We're just hanging out at the hospital at the moment. I'm at a 2-3, which I will take as good news. :-) Water's broken, pitocin's working well... I'm not quite sure when I will be getting the epidural, but we will continue to keep everyone updated!

Baby Time is Here....

Mama and Daddy are at the hospital. Mama got all checked in and changed into her hospital gown.

Now, we wait.

Be Not Afraid

Luke 1:30: "...But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God...."

We're entering the last week as a family of three. Sure, for a little over 8 months, we have "technically" been a family of four. However, unless Michael decides to greet us on his own, we will be induced at Baptist Hospital on Friday, December 17, when we will "officially" become a family of four.

A lot of talk about Michael has been going around the Wright house the last few days. Chris and I have been getting things in order - where Dillon will stay when while we're at the hospital, we have been getting our room ready for a cradle to occupy its space, making sure the Christmas decorations are up and we have Christmas presents bought, etc. We have been talking to Dillon about the baby and trying to explain that a baby can't run, jump, play, etc. I suppose we'll see how much he actually understands when the time comes! ;)

I have been asked A LOT lately if I am ready. I don't mind being asked; it's a normal question. However, I have learned you're never ready to become a mother... and I doubt I'm ready to become a mother the second time around!

In truth, I am scared. Scared that I'm not "prepared" enough. Scared something will go wrong during the delivery. Scared something will happen AFTER the delivery. Scared I won't get to bring home my baby boy when he is "supposed" to come home. I'm a little afraid he'll decide to come early - we have a "plan" set up, but what if the house isn't ready, or we can't get to Little Rock in time? And, that's just the worries over the next few days. I'm a little worried about how Dillon will actually react when Michael's here. I could worry about SIDS, about this and that.

However, I am reminded what God told Mary. "Be not afraid..." I know these next few weeks will have their challenges. I know there will be adjustments to be made as we grow as a family. However, I also know Emmanuel - God is with us. He's not going to leave. Through the good times and the bad times, God is here. I might not know what the future holds - but I know who holds the future. :-)

Santa and more

After nap Sunday, we went to Little Rock Church and ate good food, and I ran around a LOT.

Then, Santa came! I told him I wanted a big present for Christmas.

Yesterday, Mama went to the doctor and found out that Baby Michael will come next Friday, the 17th! Daddy will keep everybody posted about what they're doing here. I'll be busy having fun with Mema and Tapa.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving morning, I found a box of my toys that we hadn't opened yet.

I decided to climb in.

It was lots of fun.

The bear wanted to say, "Cheese!"

For lunch, we went to Nana's house. I stayed downstairs and watched movies.
After that, we went to Mimi's house. I ate some, and played with my cousin Elijah lots.

Daddy gave us both a bath.

That's Elijah's daddy holding both of us. I wanted Daddy to hold me, not to take pictures.

Elijah and I had fun rocking in Papa's rocking chair.

The next Sunday, after my nap, I got to put "ormaments" on the Christmas tree.

I found out you can't hang ormaments on ormaments.

After that, we went to Hot Springs Church and made things, then ate chili for supper, (or at least crackers) and then I played while Mama and Daddy went to Big Church.

Today, at Hot Springs Church, Mama and Daddy's Sunday School had a party for Baby Michael.

There was lots of food.

Somebody made cookies that looked like baby bottles!

Mama and Daddy got a lot of diapers for Baby Michael. They were almost as tall as Mama!

Tomorrow, Mama and Daddy are going to the doctor to see when Baby Michael will be born.

Aaa-la-bay-uh-muh

Last week, we went to Alabama. It was lots of fun. I watched a lot of movies, ran around, and Daddy and I found a really great playground.

It had a pirate ship wheel,

A bridge I could go back and forth over,

A ladder to climb,

Slides to go down,

And another ladder.

Here's the bridge again from the other side.

Daddy and I found a lizard, too. He was scared of us because we were so big, and he was so little.

He was really cool.

Then, it was time to come home. I got to play with Nana while Daddy was in school, then we went to Mimi's house for supper. It was all a lot of fun!

5 months already?!?

Somehow, 5 months have passed, with not a word written here. One blog post cannot hold all that has happened over these 5 past months.

But, we'll try our best.

Daddy didn't use his camera as much as he sometimes does, so there are some large lengths of time with no pictures.

Every now and then this summer, the campers would get to play with the bubble machine. Here, Mr. Dave is helping me reach the bubbles so I can play, too.

After summer, I started going to a new class at daycare. This one was downstairs, so I didn't get so tired going up and down the stairs.

We went to Mimi's house to sing Happy Birthday to Mimi, Daddy, and Uncle Danny. I played baseball outside for a while.

Then, it was time to play with Tapa's cool sword. I can only play with it outside, though. And when I'm done, it goes back in Tapa's car.

I also played with Tapa's cane for a while, but I had to give it back, because he couldn't walk very well since his foot was hurt.

I helped everybody blow out their candles.

I'm drinking my coffee, just like Daddy. (Daddy's note: it was decaf)

I helped Daddy draw what our pumpkin would look like.

And here it is, after Daddy carved it.

For Halloween, I dressed up like a 3-year-old. I think I acted the part rather well. I had lots of fun at the Halloween carnival at Little Rock Church.

I played lots of games, and got lots of candy!

Here I am showing off my musical talents.

Tomorrow, I'll tell you about our trip to Alabayumuh.
