Here's some pictures and such.

It's been a bit since the last update. It's only been about a month.....

On Dillon's first day at school, Mama, Daddy, and Michael had a breakfast treat.
Michael found Dillon's Hulk fists, and had a bit of fun with them.
Cousin Charlie had a birthday. Michael helped him unwrap his presents.
Dillon "read" to Michael. He's since started figuring out what sounds go with what letters.
Michael tried to ride a pony.
Michael still likes "Hide and Seek."

Michael tried to get a drink from an empty cup.
Michael got tired of waiting for the Razorbacks to play, and took a bit of a nap on the couch.
Mama's still pretty.
Dillon got a balloon sword at a friend's birthday party.
Michael brought Babba a book to read. Turns out it wasn't what he may have thought it was.

First Day of School

Dillon was excited to start Kindergarten at Booker this morning.

The new school year means new shoes, new backpack and a new lunch box.  He picked Spiderman for all three.

He wanted to make sure his super heroes were in the picture.  In his hands he is holding Sinestro and Batman.  They made the trip in the car.

Dillon held Mama's hand on the way to the classroom.

Ms. Jeffries - his new teacher - had everyone's names on the front of the door.  Dillon found his quickly!

After putting his backpack and lunchbox on his hanger, Dillon sat down and waited for a new day to begin.  He was very excited, and we can't wait to hear how the day went!

Kindergarten Orientation

Tomorrow is the first day of school! Friday morning, Nana took Dillon to Booker for Kindergarten Orientation. He met his new teacher, Ms. Jeffries, got his new folder & (his favorite part) saw a lot of dinosaurs, with mommies and daddies. We are looking forward to a great year!

P.S. - this week has also been birthday week! The 12th is my mom's & the 19th is my dad & sister's! Happy birthday to everyone!!

Wagon Ride

Cooler nights + Fun + Mama and Daddy needing exercise = Wagon Rides around the neighborhood!

Red Lobster

Most of the summer, Dillon has been asking to go to Red Lobster. He'd never been there, but he kept telling us that he just knew he would love it. So, earlier this week, Nana and Babba made a little boy's dreams come true.

He loved watching the lobsters before lunch, and the staff were even sweet enough to hold a lobster out of the tank so he could see it up close and personal after lunch. During lunch he colored and tried to convince Nana he could order lobster for lunch. Nana thought otherwise and convinced him to order fish. Dillon had a great time at lunch and has already told me he wants to go back!

Today, Daddy had the day off work, do we played in the sprinkler. In Dillon's words, it was "the most awesome sprinkler day, ever!"

Brothers

Michelle and I have always had a great relationship. Sure, when we were growing up, there were times we screamed and pulled hair and scratched each other, but we also truly loved each other and have grown into friends as we are older.

My hope and prayer is that our boys will do the same thing. They have already begun to play together. Dillon asks for "sweet hugs" or "sweet kisses" all the time. (Whether Michael will do it is another story, ha!). They both love to rough & rumble but they also have their sweet moments, which make me hopeful they'll be good friends in the future...

Adventures with Nana

This summer, Dillon has spent most mornings with Nana while Daddy and Mama were at work in the mornings. He went to Asbury UMC's morning program on Tuesdays-Thursdays in June and Tuesdays & Thursdays in July. Since the program finished last week, Nana and Michelle decided it was time for more adventures at the Museum of Discovery. Dillon had fun making watermelon lemonade, climbing a wall, pretending to be a knight and hanging out with Michelle (pronounced Mychelle, according to Dillon).

Happy 5th Birthday, Dillon

Dillon,

Five years ago, Daddy and I went to the hospital excited and scared to death. We were thrilled you were about to be born, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be the best mother to you. As we awaited your birth, I dreamed about what you might look like, what you would grow up to be, etc. At 3:29, after 29 minutes of pushing, you came into this world and Daddy and I learned the meaning of love at first sight.

To tell you the truth, I love you more now than I did five years ago. You are incredibly smart. You are so funny. You have an incredible memory. You have an extremely big heart. You grasp more about God and Jesus (and you like to include Father Abraham too!) than I think I do at times. You have an incredible imagination. At the moment you are all about Batman, Superman, the Hulk, etc. You love Michael to death, even when he is incredibly rough with you.

Dillon, Daddy and I are extremely proud of you. Happy birthday and many more!
