Adventures with Nana

This summer, Dillon has spent most mornings with Nana while Daddy and Mama were at work in the mornings. He went to Asbury UMC's morning program on Tuesdays-Thursdays in June and Tuesdays & Thursdays in July. Since the program finished last week, Nana and Michelle decided it was time for more adventures at the Museum of Discovery. Dillon had fun making watermelon lemonade, climbing a wall, pretending to be a knight and hanging out with Michelle (pronounced Mychelle, according to Dillon).

Happy 5th Birthday, Dillon

Dillon,

Five years ago, Daddy and I went to the hospital excited and scared to death. We were thrilled you were about to be born, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be the best mother to you. As we awaited your birth, I dreamed about what you might look like, what you would grow up to be, etc. At 3:29, after 29 minutes of pushing, you came into this world and Daddy and I learned the meaning of love at first sight.

To tell you the truth, I love you more now than I did five years ago. You are incredibly smart. You are so funny. You have an incredible memory. You have an extremely big heart. You grasp more about God and Jesus (and you like to include Father Abraham too!) than I think I do at times. You have an incredible imagination. At the moment you are all about Batman, Superman, the Hulk, etc. You love Michael to death, even when he is incredibly rough with you.

Dillon, Daddy and I are extremely proud of you. Happy birthday and many more!

Summertime

It's been a while, mostly because there's no good way to get photos from phone to computer, and from computer to blog anymore.
Michael and cousin Charlie got to play at Mimi's house.
Then Charlie & Elijah got to play at our house!
Getting pictures of cousins isn't always easy.
We went to the Flag Day Picnic & Wind Symphony Concert. Michael was in Heaven. That boy loves some flags.
One of Dillon's friends from church was there, and they got to play together.
There's a new water/climbing park nearby, and we've been there a few times. This is how you see Dillon the most - running somewhere.
Dillon's been doing swim lessons this month. He's been doing pretty well for not wanting to get his face wet.
Michael actually petted a dog! A family brought their Alaskan Husky to the water park one day, and Michael actually petted it. It may have helped that it didn't really move, or bark, like most dogs he's seen.
