silly doctors, pinkeye, and cold weather.

so, the last time we went to the doctor, he decided that since Dillon didn't hold his head up like he 'should,' we had to have a CT scan done.

we did that last Wednesday, and they didn't find anything wrong, just like we thought.

however, we did find out early this week that he had a mild case of pinkeye, but that's pretty much over.

and, here's Dillon wearing a coat.

etadpU

(that's Update backwards)

Dillon's been sleeping though the night for about a week, now.

He'll be 3 months old on Saturday.

Daddy got a promotion at work.

Life's going pretty well right now for the Wright family.

2 months....

Dillon's started rolling over from his back to his stomach... here's a video of it. (sorry for the quality, it came from my cell phone)

8 weeks later....

Dillon's getting to be such a big boy... he's been going to day care, sleeping in the crib in his own room, and taking baths in the "tub."

he really doesn't mind baths, it's when we take him out of the water that he cries, but that's because he's cold.

Dillon was asleep when mommy was talking to Brother John (Fleming), so he put his glasses on Dillon. He kinda looks like Daddy....

...sorry...

sorry for the lack of updates... life's been busy, and we just keep forgetting, except when we're somewhere where we can't post.

we've also had some mechanical issues: my camera's memory card has died, so we put Diane's in my camera, and now we can't find my camera. there are pictures on Diane's camera, but we couldn't find a cord to connect it to the computer until tonight. Most of the pictures we do have are from grandparents. so... thank you.

a lot has happened in the past two+ weeks, I'll try to recap as best I can. ;-)

Friday the 10th, Mommy and Daddy went to "aunt" Ashley's college graduation, so he got to spend the evening with Grandparents Drilling.

the next night, Mommy and Daddy ran away to a Phil Keaggy concert, and Grandparents Wright got to keep him.

The next day, we all went to church, then drove down to Benton to see all the family there. (there was something about a birthday, too....)

(since it's getting late, and Daddy's got to work early tomorrow, I'll post more hopefully tomorrow, and catch up a little more)

1 month down, the rest of his life to go....

Dillon is officially one month old today.

Wednesday, we all took a trip to Tanako, to see all our friends there, and that went well.

Thursday, Dillon got to go to his first Journey worship service, then that night woke up every hour, on the hour, till about 5.

Saturday, he got to spend most of the day at Grandma Drilling's, while Mommy and Daddy and Grandma Wright went to the movies, then Mr. Pastor came over for dinner.

Sunday, we all went to church, then after lunch, we all took a nap, till Daddy had to go to work. when Daddy got home, Dillon decided he would be fussy and wake up whenever he wasn't being held, until about 2am. after that, he slept till almost 6:30, then woke up again at about 10.

after eating, it was time for another nap.

roadtrip and more

after cat-napping all day yesterday, we finally put Dillon to bed about 11:30 last night, and he woke up at 6:30.

we could really get used to this... now if he would do it every night....

later, we're all going out to lunch, then going to see some friends.

it should be a fun day.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Things have been fairly boring in the Wright house lately... not sure that's a bad thing.

Today, we all went to church again, and while mommy and daddy sang in the choir, "grandmommy" Cruce held Dillon. He ate a little before the service started, and then spent the rest of the service asleep.

fun day

Daddy had to open at work today, and that meant getting up at 4 am. Mommy, Dillon, and Grandma Drilling went back to Children's Hospital at about 10, to find out that the doctor had canceled the appointment because it wouldn't be covered by insurance.

after that, Mommy, Dillon, and Grandma went to Grandpa Drilling's office, then met Daddy and Aunt Shelly for lunch.
after that, everybody took a nap.

(almost?) sleeping through the night

Last night, Dillon finally went to sleep at midnight, and woke up at about 6 am. that counts as sleeping through the night, right?

just... a very short night.

in other news, today, Daddy and Grandpa Wright worked a little on Daddy's car, then Mommy and Daddy and Dillon went on a grand adventure to Chick-Fil-A for a somewhat late lunch.

after that, Daddy went to work, and Mommy went to Grandma and Grandpa Drillings' house.

some people came to visit, and gave us a really nice white and yellow blanket, and when Daddy got off of work we all came home.

Dillon woke up a few minutes ago, and it was time to eat. a little later, it'll be bath time. ;-)

maybe he'll do another one of those 6-hour naps tonight....

Baby's Revenge

Thursday was a good day, overall. Chris worked from 10-4, and so Dillon and I kept each other company. He slept A LOT, but he was overall a good baby. Chris came home from around 4-5 before heading to our church's contemporary service last night. When he came home from church, we had a lazy night of watching TV and just hanging out.

I wasn't worried about him sleeping a lot during the day, because he'd never given us a problem about sleeping at night. However, last night, was a slightly different story. After eating a little around 10:30-11, Chris could not get Dillon to sleep. I tried feeding him a little more around midnight, and he slept for around 45 minutes. When he woke up again around 1, I changed his diaper and attempted to rock him back to sleep - but he would have NOTHING to do with Mommy. I called Chris in for back-up, and Dillon immediately responded to him. It took us awhile to get him calmed down, but - finally - around 2am he went to sleep. He then woke up at 5 (to eat, but that was on schedule).

After waking up at 9 (and letting Mommy change his diaper and feed him), he played for around 2 hours before getting tired. We got him to sleep around 11:45 or so, and he is sleeping soundly as we speak...

Hopefully tonight will go much better!

long overdue update

Sunday, it was Dillon's first day at church. He got to meet lots of new people, who kept going on about how cute he was.

Monday, it was Daddy's first day back to work. Dillon also ate a whole 4-ounce bottle. (twice actually, but one came back up)

Yesterday, Mommy, Aunt Michelle, and Dillon visited Daddy at work. Everyone there was so happy to see him, especially one of Daddy's coworkers, since it was her last day.

He's been eating more, and sleeping longer, which Mommy and Daddy are appreciating.

1 week down....

(he's not screaming, he's yawning)

yesterday, we went to the doctor, and everything was fine and dandy. after that, we toured Grandma Wright's office.

last night, he only woke up at 2:30 and 6:30. mom and dad could get used to this kinda thing....

Dillon had a problem with the ear test they did when he was born, so they scheduled another one for this morning.

except they scheduled it at the wrong place.

and a week before they should have.

so, mom, dad, and Dillon got to roam around Children's Hospital, then visit Grandpa Drilling's office.

and, he was asleep the whole time.

Day 5

After a good morning yesterday, Dillon got upset at something, (we're still not quite sure what) and stayed upset for a couple of hours until he finally decided to calm down and take a nap on Daddy's chest.

He slept fairly well last night, waking up 3 times, each 3 1/2 hours apart.

That's him in the swing, he'll stay there for a few minutes, and decide he'd rather be held.

He's been mostly awake since about 11:30, and just a few minutes ago decided it was time to take another nap.

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

A real eye opener.

After sleeping for 4 1/2 and 5 hours, this is what greeted us this morning.

He's been opening his eyes more and more recently, which mommy and daddy have enjoyed.

now to work on that sleeping through the night thing....

"first night"

after waking up about every 45 minutes to an hour, we finally went to sleep at about 2:00 when mommy put Dillon back in the carseat and slept until about 8:30.

he's such a good baby.

after eating and changing diaper, it was time for another nap.

first visit to the grandparent's....

so... our air conditioner isn't working, and the repairman can't get to it 'till morning, so we're all getting to spend the night downstairs at Grandparents' Drilling.

it's looking like our first night at home won't happen until tomorrow night.

after spending a fussy evening, (mostly because of the heat) Dillon's been asleep since we put him in the carseat.

Home.

We're all home now, we got home about 1 this afternoon.

We're all getting used to everything.

Dillon is one hungry baby. He's eaten three times since we've been home.

and now it's time for another nap.

going home

All the doctors say everybody's ok, so we're going home today.

that's all.

Saturday, July 7, 2007

I started crying, and it took a while, but granddad finally figured out that what i really wanted was a bottle. (it's ok, but he's a little rusty at changing diapers)
after draining it, it was time for another nap.

the day after

We're all doing fine, "big D" stayed in the nursury after mommy and daddy got moved into their room. we got to meet Dr. Calderon this morning, which will be a memorable occasion....

Daddy got to change his first diaper, and we all got to try our hand at giving a bottle, and boy, was he hungry.

After all that, it was time to take another nap.

first bath

i do not like being bathed.

it's a little late... but....

Dillon Andrew Wright was born at 3:29pm. weighing a whopping 10 pounds, 22 inches.

mom's tired, and dad's arms are sore from holding him. ;)

i'll post some more pictures when i get them

Update 5

so.... we're at 9 cm, feeling slight pain, and resting. (and mom squeezing dad's hand during contractions)

not exactly sure when the nurse will be back, to check for progress, but it shouldn't be long.

more later.

** edit (2:15):

ok, the nurse just came in, and we're about 99% of the way. mom's sitting up for 30 minutes, and then we'll start pushing!

Uptade 4

Diane's at 7cm, almost 8(she went from 4ish to where she is now in a 2-hour nap), and Dr. Deed just said that pushing will start within the hour.

YAY!

(didn't get my nap in... ;-p )

update 3

mom's asleep. nothing's really happening at the moment.

lots of excitement, let me tell ya.

i think i may take a nap, too.

D-Day Update 2

mom had a bad reaction to some pain medicine, contractions got worse, water broken, epidural's working wonderfully.

more to come....

@ the hospital

ok, we're at the hospital...

and evidently, mom's already started going into labor.

go figure.

Dr. Deed just came in to break her water, so i gotta go.

more later.

The Big Day

Chris and I are about to leave for the hospital. Amazingly enough, we slept well last night - until around 4:00am. We got up around 30 minutes later so we would have time to wake up and get ready without being rushed and stressed. After taking some pictures at home, we packed the car seat. We're about to finish packing the suitcase and then we'll load everything into the car. We'll try and see about updating occassionally today...

Wow. In twenty-four hours, Chris and I will be parents. Try to comprehend that thought.
