5 months already?!?

Somehow, 5 months have passed, with not a word written here. One blog post cannot hold all that has happened over these 5 past months.

But, we'll try our best.

Daddy didn't use his camera as much as he sometimes does, so there are some large lengths of time with no pictures.

Every now and then this summer, the campers would get to play with the bubble machine. Here, Mr. Dave is helping me reach the bubbles so I can play, too.

After summer, I started going to a new class at daycare. This one was downstairs, so I didn't get so tired going up and down the stairs.

We went to Mimi's house to sing Happy Birthday to Mimi, Daddy, and Uncle Danny. I played baseball outside for a while.

Then, it was time to play with Tapa's cool sword. I can only play with it outside, though. And when I'm done, it goes back in Tapa's car.

I also played with Tapa's cane for a while, but I had to give it back, because he couldn't walk very well since his foot was hurt.

I helped everybody blow out their candles.

I'm drinking my coffee, just like Daddy. (Daddy's note: it was decaf)

I helped Daddy draw what our pumpkin would look like.

And here it is, after Daddy carved it.

For Halloween, I dressed up like a 3-year-old. I think I acted the part rather well. I had lots of fun at the Halloween carnival at Little Rock Church.

I played lots of games, and got lots of candy!

Here I am showing off my musical talents.

Tomorrow, I'll tell you about our trip to Alabayumuh.

Birthday at Mimi's

Saturday, we went to Mimi's house to say "Happy Birthday" and open presents and eat cake.

I got some cards. I wasn't that interested in those.

I was much more interested in presents. I got a shovel, rake, and hoe from Mema.

Aunt Cara gave me a neat remote-controlled car.

I had a lot of fun with it.

After we left Mimi's house, we went to somewhere new. I got to decorate a "Dream Box." Mama asked what my dream was, and I told her I wanted to be a big cow.

Outside, I got to pet a goat!

I also got to milk a pretend cow.

Then I got to hold the goat's leash.

Then a lamb's leash.

Then the other goat's leash. It was a lot of fun!

Living at Camp is Fun!

I've got a new daycare, new friends, a new cabin to live in, a new big boy bunk bed to sleep in,

There are lots of people here to play with and read me stories...

Lots of new toys in Mama's office to play with...

I'm a busy, busy, boy.

Moving Right Along....

We've started moving, which means that we don't have everything in one place. We have some things, like my old bed, all my toys, most of my clothes, and the TV at our old house, and some other things, like my new bunk bed, Mama and Daddy's bed, and lots of cool new things at our cabin.

Daddy hasn't had time to take any pictures, he's been too busy putting things into boxes and blowing his nose.

We have had fun with Papa's truck, though. Daddy is borrowing it since his car is really small and can't carry big things like beds and (chests of) drawers and boxes.

I've been having lots of fun, but maybe we'll get all this finished before Mama comes home from going out of town with Miss Becky to Missippi.

A little video

Dillon decided that he needed to play piano in the choir room after church.
Mama and Daddy thought it would be fun if Daddy got video of it.

The "Oh no!" is Dillon's chair scooting back. Daddy's cell phone can only take video for so long before it cuts off.

Announcements, Announcements, Announcements!

Soon, this family of three will be a family of four!

We announced to our families today that I'm pregnant! We could not be happier! :-) We have known for almost two weeks, and it's been one of the hardest things to keep a secret! We have told Dillon, but I am not sure how much he understands. I am sure he will begin to understand as time goes on.

When we found out, I knew I wanted to tell everyone on Mother's Day. I went to Michael's and bought three brag books. Inside the book was a picture of the three of us taken on Easter at church. The rest of the pages were blank. Then, the card was inserted in the back. Our three names were signed, and then we ended it with Baby #2! I think everyone was happy and surprised. It's been a fun day of spreading the news via visits, texts, calls, Facebook, and Twitter. Ha!

Chris and I are very excited about the future and plan to blog about it when possible. :-) We hope EVERYONE had a blessed Mother's Day. I know we did!!!!

Naming Dillon

So, I'm a few days late, but I wanted to share why I named our son Dillon Andrew as apart of Show of Your Life at Kelly's Korner's blog. :-)

If I am going to be truthful, I did not think much about boy names at first. I'd grown up with a sister, and I always, ALWAYS knew I was going to have a girl. There were times growing up that I'd wanted a boy, but I hadn't given it much thought. However, when Chris and I started talking boy names (this was before we found out the gender... I wanted the baby to have a name as soon as we found out what he/she was going to be), I KNEW who I was going to name the baby after.

My maternal grandfather, Jack Dillon, was one of the best people to step on this planet, in my opinion. He was loving, he was caring, and I truly felt like I was one of the apples in his eye. My sister, Michelle, and I were the only grandchildren on either side, and so we were spoiled... but we always knew he spoiled us not just because he was our grandfather, but because he wanted to. He picked us up from school on occasion, and he always took us out to lunch on Sunday afternoons after "happy hour" at the Dillon house, after church. He would let Michelle and I pick wherever we wanted to go eat. I remember one time, in particular, we changed our minds on the way to the restaurant. He grumbled, but he turned the car around and we went wherever it was. Ha!

Papa (as we called him) was the one who taught me about Razorback football. One of my first football games to attend was just the two of us - my parents were prepping for us to move, and Michelle was too young (and not interested) to attend. It was a COLD game... We played Alabama, and we tied. That I do remember. He also taught me how to love the Dallas Cowboys. He was one of the first people to tell me that we love our teams, good years and bad. To this day, I follow that mantra. (Fair weathered fans are some of my pet peeves. FYI.)

He was also deeply religious. He and Mama (his wife, my grandmother) were charter members of St. Paul, where Dillon is a fourth generation member. He showed his faith quietly... not talking about it much, but he came to church, helped usher, and helped do some of the behind the scenes portions. When Papa would usher, he would let me walk back with him down the center aisle after collecting the offering. I thought I was big stuff. ;) After he died, I found a letter he'd never delivered to our then associate pastor, Al. All it said was, "Al, please pray for my surgery. I'm scared. Jack." However, I knew the second my Aunt Debbie told me that Papa died (May 7, 2001) he went straight to Heaven to join his wife and other siblings and parents. There was no doubt in my mind.

For these reasons, and more, I knew my son's name would be either Jack or Dillon. We settled on Dillon. I really like family names, and so we decided Dillon's middle name would be Andrew, after his father's middle name. I think it fits perfectly. :-)

Although I miss my grandfather, I know his legacy is being carried on through Dillon. I never take it for granted, and it makes my heart warm every time I think about it.

Dillon: Thanks for being such a great son. I'm proud that you are able to carry your great grandfather's name and legacy. You are the best almost birthday present I could have ever received. Thank you! :-)

Easter!

Easter started with the church's Palm Sunday Easter egg hunt and picnic.

Before we ate, I played on the playground with my friends a bit.

I slid down the slide all by myself!

I didn't cry much for the Easter Bunny.

I thought the Easter Bunny needed a hug.

Miz Liz told us all where to go to hunt our eggs.

I had lots of eggs to find!

I even got a special prize!

After lunch, I played on the playground some more.

That Wednesday, we got to go to Church and eat pizza and make crafts and listen to people talk. I showed Mr. Roger how strong I was.

Mama got wrapped up just like Jesus was a long time ago.

Mr. Bob helped show me what to do with my Resurrection eggs.

That Saturday, after spending the night with Mema and Tapa, we went to Nana and Babba's house to dye Easter Eggs. It was lots of fun!

After church Sunday, Babba wanted to take a picture of all of us.

I didn't want to take my hand out of my mouth, though.

After lunch, we tried again. I was a little more cooperative this time.

I also got Michelle to read the book that the Easter Bunny gave me.

Week In Review (a post from March that got lost.)

This week has been a busy week! It was Spring Break Week! While Mama and Daddy were at work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Tapa came and kept me. When Daddy got home from Starbucks, we played outside, played basketball, and on Friday Daddy took me to get a haircut. On Tuesday, Daddy mowed the grass and I "helped" by being a good boy and watching. On Thursday, Daddy had to go to Camp Tanako (more about that later) and so Daddy took me to Mimi and Papa's house to play and take a nap and play some more! On Saturday, I went back to Tanako to play with Ms. Becky and her mama while Mama and Daddy went to visit some people at the hospital. Then, we went to CiCi's for a yummy pizza dinner. (At one point during dinner, I said, "Yum, I love CiCi's!" Mama told me she likes Larry's better, but it was okay pizza.)

Speaking of Tanako...

MAMA GOT A NEW JOB AT TANAKO! Starting on April 5, she is going to be the Program Director. The current Program Director, Ms. Becky, is going to be Director. Mama says it's a dream come true, and she is very excited. Daddy is going to work at Tanako some, too, taking pictures and making videos to show to churches about why they should send their children to Tanako for summer camp. We're going to move to camp in May. I really liked playing there yesterday. When Mama told me we were moving, I told her, "Sure, but I am watching TV right now." Yesterday, I picked out my room, but Mama told me it was called the Master Bedroom, and I couldn't have it...

Today was a fun church day. After Sunday school, we started church outside waving palm branches. Then, we waved palm branches in church. After church, Mama, Daddy, Ms. Ronni and I went home, changed into warmer clothes, and we went to a picnic! At the picnic, I picked up lots of eggs, sat with the Easter Bunny, and played on the playground. I was so tired afterwards, I fell asleep in the car and didn't wake up for 2 1/2 hours! Mama and Daddy were thrilled - they also got a nap!

Even though it was a busy week, I had a fun week! I hope this week is fun, too!

A quick video

Mama asked if I wanted to sing "Jesus Loves Me" for Daddy's camera, so I got one of my books, and pretended it was my Bible.
