Adventures with Nana

This summer, Dillon has spent most mornings with Nana while Daddy and Mama were at work in the mornings. He went to Asbury UMC's morning program on Tuesdays-Thursdays in June and Tuesdays & Thursdays in July. Since the program finished last week, Nana and Michelle decided it was time for more adventures at the Museum of Discovery. Dillon had fun making watermelon lemonade, climbing a wall, pretending to be a knight and hanging out with Michelle (pronounced Mychelle, according to Dillon).

Happy 5th Birthday, Dillon

Dillon,

Five years ago, Daddy and I went to the hospital excited and scared to death. We were thrilled you were about to be born, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be the best mother to you. As we awaited your birth, I dreamed about what you might look like, what you would grow up to be, etc. At 3:29, after 29 minutes of pushing, you came into this world and Daddy and I learned the meaning of love at first sight.

To tell you the truth, I love you more now than I did five years ago. You are incredibly smart. You are so funny. You have an incredible memory. You have an extremely big heart. You grasp more about God and Jesus (and you like to include Father Abraham too!) than I think I do at times. You have an incredible imagination. At the moment you are all about Batman, Superman, the Hulk, etc. You love Michael to death, even when he is incredibly rough with you.

Dillon, Daddy and I are extremely proud of you. Happy birthday and many more!

Summertime

It's been a while, mostly because there's no good way to get photos from phone to computer, and from computer to blog anymore.
Michael and cousin Charlie got to play at Mimi's house.
Then Charlie & Elijah got to play at our house!
Getting pictures of cousins isn't always easy.
We went to the Flag Day Picnic & Wind Symphony Concert. Michael was in Heaven. That boy loves some flags.
One of Dillon's friends from church was there, and they got to play together.
There's a new water/climbing park nearby, and we've been there a few times. This is how you see Dillon the most - running somewhere.
Dillon's been doing swim lessons this month. He's been doing pretty well for not wanting to get his face wet.
Michael actually petted a dog! A family brought their Alaskan Husky to the water park one day, and Michael actually petted it. It may have helped that it didn't really move, or bark, like most dogs he's seen.

Lots of pictures

Oh, my, it's been a while since we updated. Here's some pictures, I'll add captions when I can get to a computer.

Movies and Doggies

Dillon had an awesome Saturday. This morning, he was Michelle's date to a movie. Michelle was also gracious enough to keep Dillon while his mom was at the doctor. While Dillon was at Michelle's house, he met Jake's new dog, Emme. I think he liked her.

Comparisons

This is Dillon wearing the same Easter suit as Michael in April 2010.

Michael sporting it this year.  I think they look similar, but they are definitely different in their own special ways. :-)

Michael started saying thank you last night.  My dad handed him a Swiffer at their house (the boy loves cleaning products), and he said "da du".  He also said it to me a few times this morning.  He's my sweet mess pot.

Dillon is going to the zoo with Babba tomorrow.  He's so excited!

Easter and Since

Michael got a haircut by Michelle and Nana.
Meanwhile, Dillon got a driving lesson from Babba.
Easter morning, Dillon was excited to find all his eggs and books for him and Michael.
 Michael just wanted breakfast.
At church, Dillon helped Babba with sound.
Michael looked pretty sharp in his suit.
That afternoon, he fell asleep during snack, but not for very long.
Thanks to a friend with a membership, Daddy and the boys spent an afternoon at the zoo.
Michael enjoyed it from the comfort of the stroller.
Dillon wanted to see the big cats from the moment we got there. It took a while to get there, though. He enjoyed watching the tiger pace around, and it even roared for us.
 Monkey meets monkey.
 Chillin'
Dillon got to be eye to eye with a penguin.
Then, he was a penguin.
That weekend, we went to Family Camp at Camp Tanako.
In the cabin, the boys made box fortresses while Michael just played with the markers.
Simon says, "Run around!"

Dog Days of Spring

Our next-door-neighbor has a dog. Michael doesn't like dogs.
Today when we went outside to play, the dog was in the yard. This dog likes to bark at people he can see. Doesn't matter who you are, he'll bark at you.
This was Michael's lookout point to see the dog.
He got all the way to here, about 25 feet away from the dog.
Then, the dog started barking, so he ran.
He then watched the dog from behind my shoulder.

Spring Break week

Dillon started out the week with a quick solo after church with Mr. Bob.
It rained a bit Tuesday and Wednesday. So, Wednesday, we braved the rain and went to the Museum of Discovery.
Dillon played with dinosaurs a bit.
Then, he was Captain Dillon the pirate.
Michael joined him on the ship for a bit.
Dillon was also a knight for a bit.
Michael found a toy vacuum cleaner, and cleaned the floor a while. He even cleaned the pit where the dinosaurs were.
Hi, Mama!
Dillon the shopkeeper.
Dillon made some electricity, too.
Thursday, we went to Blanchard Springs Caverns.
It's better in person.
It's also hard to take pictures in near pitch-black

Yay, springtime!
Happy boys.
